Overheard conversation in David's Bridal yesterday
Customer to Saleslady while holding up a dress: "Can you alterate this?"
Followed by confused-by-her-own-self facial expression and pause. She obviously realized she had used the wrong word. So she decided to correct herself: "I mean, can you alternate this?"
Followed by completely self-satisfied and confident look of pleasure.
I left the store and thought about how happy I was that she would have her dress alternated.
